π Iβm a UX/UI Designer with an eye on the future.
π± To become a product designer with a global mindset, I want to focus on applying altruism & future thinking to my creative drive. I want to work with diverse individuals that will help me grow my knowledge in UX design while exposing me to paradigms that challenge my own. I believe this will help me construct more accessible, desirable, & lasting products.
π’ As a person who grew up in environments that helped attune my mentality to international & intersectional thinking, I aim to build experiences that help the respective industries I find myself in. My past experiences allow me to keep in mind the research goals, marketing goals, business goals, design goals, & user goals of work during my day-to-day tasks.
π¨ Being that creative junkie bursting with ideas, I now have the tools to implement these ideas effectively in work & play, ready to place myself at the forefront of future technological advancement.
π A little background info
π I grew up in Namibia & South Africa, always dreaming about space, technology and art. I used to want to be an inventor when I grew up, I suppose being a UX designer means I can be considered a modern-day inventor! Working with more digital tools and engineering new ways of interacting.
π I attended two international schools as a result of moving countries, I gained the IB diploma in Cape Town which sparked my drive for critical thinking, self-research & interest in global affairs.
π¨ Being a fundamentally creative person, I felt I had to branch my working life into something creative too. UX design proved to be an incredible opportunity to exercise both professional & artistic muscles.
I havenβt looked back since!
π§ How my design brain ticks
π I tend to dwell on both the minor details & the big picture. Not an ideal mix, as it means I can become lost in the sea of ambiguity between the two. But making sense of it all gives me energy.
π Something that makes me happy to think about is that almost anything we interact with in our day to day was once nothing more than a thought. I want to be one of the people who has the thoughts that disrupt, change, & define the future of design.
π΅οΈββοΈI focus heavily on iteration & validation in my day to day. I get second opinions, feedback & insights from those that critique with honest intentions. I am in no way a perfect designer, so I appreciate all the help I can get from people of all backgrounds. Because who knows, maybe your next best idea will be sparked by a driver, upholsterer or a consultant!
